As a family member, you have been through quite a lot before getting to this point. Although you may be grateful your loved one is getting the help they need most likely you have your own fear, confusion, pain and anger. Rising Roads looks forward to working with you and your loved one in family therapy and we have many suggestions for resources for you. So much has been written regarding codependency, mental illness, family dynamics, trauma, and addiction. We highly recommend browsing our resources page for informational videos and suggested books to read. If you are overwhelmed, please ask our staff for recommendations specific to your family. We are happy to help.
To make the most out of this time at Rising Roads we suggest you also find local resources. Some of our families have gratefully found local support groups, alanon meetings, and therapists very helpful for their parallel process. There are also retreats and workshops all over the country specifically for families who have had a loved one struggle with mental health and substance abuse. It is an opportunity to take an in-depth look at your life and begin healing without the commitment of 30-90 day treatment program.
Our FAQ’s page is a great resource for commonly asked questions. Whether you are deciding if Rising Roads is the right fit for you and your family or you have already joined us, we are here to inspire and guide you on the healing path.
