How We Treat Dual Diagnosis
To successfully resolve a case of dual diagnosis, special care must be taken. Instead of treating one disorder at a time, our staff has learned that a synchronized approach works best. Our clinicians address both conditions at the same time. By simultaneously treating a client’s chemical dependency and mental illness, we can give them a solid foundation for lasting recovery.
Rising Roads treats dual diagnosis through:
Group Therapy
Our group sessions offer two key benefits: social support and therapeutic intervention. The effects of modalities like dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) are amplified by group participation.
Individual Therapy Sessions
Proven techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and accelerated resolution therapy (ART) are conducted in private, one-on-one sessions. This provides women with the opportunity to discuss their personal experiences that they don’t feel comfortable unpacking with the whole group.
Medication Management
Our center is neither pro- nor anti-medication. We work with each client to determine whether their current non-addictive prescriptions are effectively managing their mental health conditions. If not, we provide medical insight and guidance to improve their symptoms.
