Women’s Mental Health Programs
Through a combination of proven therapies, Rising Roads Recovery helps women to find freedom from anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions.

Mental Health Program at a Glance
Over 1 in 5 women in the United States deal with mental illness every year. These conditions can be debilitating. For many of our clients, the constant worry, hopelessness, and pain of mental illness prevented them from thriving. In fact, these conditions often contribute to another issue: substance abuse. At Rising Roads, we provide comprehensive treatment for women dealing with mental illness and addiction.
Signs of Mental Illness in Women
Mental illness doesn’t just put someone in a bad mood; it affects every aspect of their life. Ultimately, the clearest sign that someone needs treatment is an inability to function. If they struggle to hold down a job, stay in touch with friends, or meet important obligations, professional intervention is recommended.
Other symptoms of mental illness in women include:
- Extreme mood swings
- Changes in eating habits
- Grandiose thoughts
- Sleeping too much or too little
- Struggling to maintain relationships
- Feeling sad most of the time
- Self-harm (nonsuicidal self-injury)
- Losing a job or leaving school
- Low self-worth
- Worrying almost all the time
- Pain without a clear physical cause
- Isolating from others
- Sexual promiscuity
- Difficulty regulating emotions
Clinicians Utilizing Evidence-Based Practices
Our treatment team is comprised of experts in women’s-only care. With licensed clinicians, a board-certified psychiatrist, a nutritionist, and family therapists, Rising Roads offers a holistic approach to mental wellness. Each woman benefits from a homelike environment that epitomizes safety and security. While at our center, clients can open up about their lives, explore various emotions, and discover their authentic selves.
Our Mental Health Programming
Women with mental illness require both individual and group therapies, which we provide on-site at our Santa Ana campus. Between sessions, our clients prepare for life in the real world through life skills training. This equips them with the knowledge needed to budget, practice self-care, and otherwise function in their daily lives. We also connect women with career matching and personality testing services, which provide meaningful guidance after treatment.
Another pillar of the Rising Roads experience is community. At our center, women build strong bonds with other women – maybe for the first time in their lives. We have found that through shared experiences, our clients forage lifelong friendships and establish their own sober support networks.
Individualized Treatment Plans
At Rising Roads, our program hinges on fully individualized care. This means that each client receives a mental health treatment plan tailored to her specific needs and diagnoses. Our therapists are trained in a variety of evidence-based techniques, including:
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
- Accelerated resolution therapy (ART)
- Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
- Expressive arts therapy
